Tamaya is from Stone Mountain, Georgia. She became interested in autoimmune diseases through the show House, and the mystery of why the brain attacks itself. She is drawn to the field of immunology, aiming to make a difference for individuals grappling with autoimmune diseases. In the Amatullah Lab, she is studying how gene x environment interactions contribute to lupus pathogenesis. In her spare time, she enjoys singing and listening to music.
